Installation, Repair and Replacement of Tecumseh Carb Float Damping Spring

- #1. Hang needle from float
Hang the inlet needle from the float with the spring clip (#1).

- #2. Install needle
Bring the needle into position (#2).

- #3. Position float
Position float ears between towers (#3).

- #4. Position spring
Insert hinge rod part way and then position the damping spring with long leg against float and pointing to choke, or air intake, end of carb (#4).

- #5. Insert hinge rod
Continue sliding hinge rod across to opposite tower while aligning spring (#5).

- #6. Float assembled
Align float ear to tower and finish inserting hinge rod (#6).

- #7. Bowl gasket over spring leg
Install bowl gasket over short leg of damping spring (#7).

- #8. Float and hinge
Check that float and needle operate freely and that clip is positioned correctly (#8).
