Pinch off the fuel line to stop fuel flow and remove the fuel line from the carb (#1).
After removing the air filter, remove one screw from the air filter area and two nuts from the air cleaner base flange at the carb. (#2).
#3 shows the attachment ot the crankcase breather tube to the underside of the air cleaner base. To remove the tube, press it through from the top with your thumb.
Remove the air cleaner base and note the O-ring seal in the base's flange (#4).
#5 shows the carb after removal of the air cleaner, with linkages visible.
The above photo (#6) shows a closer view of the far end of the choke rod, throttle rod, and throttle spring. It is not necessary to disconnect the throttle rod or spring at this end.
Unhook the throttle spring from the carb, and remove the two carb mounting studs (#7).
Slip the choke rod out of its bracket by rotating the carb counter-clockwise (#8).
#9 shows how the choke rod is hooked into the choke lever from the underside. Disconnect the throttle rod by tilting the carb and slipping the carb off the hooked end of the rod (#10).
