Remove air cleaner cover by loosening two 5/16 screws (#1).
Lift out air filter (#2).
Remove the crankcase breather tube (#3).
Remove two screws to remove the air cleaner base (#4).
#5 shows the air cleaner gasket on the air cleaner base. This gasket is critical to the operation of the primer.
Remove fuel from carb (#6).
The next photo (#7) shows the carburetor and linkages after removal of air cleaner base and fuel line.
Remove two carb mounting screws, separate carb and gaskets from engine control bracket, tilt carb to slip off throttle link (#8).

The carb bowl can be accessed without removing carb from engine (#11) for quick cleaning or inspection. Use a short offset 1/2 in. box wrench.

Another view of carb links (#13). The tang to which the extension spring is attached should be bent to adjust engine speed. Bend it outward to increase speed.
